The Uganda Entertainment Awards took place last Friday at the prestigious Kampala Serena Hotel. With over 47 categories advertised, some of the nominees went home without knowing who had won in their category thanks to the disorganization that clouded the event. Other nominees like Pastor Kayanja ended up going home with awards that were not theirs because of a mix up by the organizers. The pastor who was supposed to go home with a Nobel award, went with a Humanitarian award leaving the real award winner, Angella Katatumba disgruntled.
Because of this disorganization, several people including David Lutalo have lashed out at the awards and the organizers. Lutalo who lost in the Best Male Category which was the only category that he had been nominated in said that he deserved the award even though the organizers thought he didn’t.
David who has been named artiste of the year in the 2016 Hipipo music awards also said that the fans know who their real best artiste is in that category and it doesn’t change a thing that the award was given to someone else. Eddy Kenzo bagged the Best Male artiste award.
