The Uganda premier league is set to resume today after an sensational start on Friday and Saturday in the respective opening games. However, the game between Simba FC and Soana FC has been postponed in honour of Fahad Musana who passed away on Sunday in a Bombo Town makeshift video hall as he watched the Barclays Premier league clash between reigning champions Manchester City and Chelsea.
Musana played in Simba’s 1-0 victory on Saturday at Nakivubo stadium in their league opener against Entebbe FC as the player marked his second spell at the army club.
The sad news of the passing of Fahad Musana came as a huge shock not only to Simba as a team but also to the colleagues with whom he was enjoying the Sunday premier league fixtures.
Musana had trained with the team mates in the morning (Sunday) at the Bombo military Baracks stadium. “He even trained with us at the Bombo military Baracks stadium in the morning of the fateful incident and completed the session well,” a seemingly shocked Fred Kajoba, his coach at the Simba told Kawowo.
Without out any historical illnesses recorded on the player, it was quite shocking when he collapsed during the Man City v Chelsea tie. Reports indicate that the player fainted as soon as former Chelsea star who joined Mann City on a loan spell, Frank Lampard scored the equalizer. Musana was a passionate Chelsea supporter.
