Uganda Breweries Limited will on 10th – 12th December 2020 hold a 3-day competitive challenge bringing together young innovators and creative thinkers to collaborate to develop unique e-commerce solutions for a fast-paced business industry dubbed the Creative hackathon.
The hackathon will be held in partnership with House of DJ’s and will seek to address the need for e-commerce solutions accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The young innovators and creative thinkers will be mentored by Elvis Sekyanzi Wavamuno. Elvis is a qualified Electronic engineer, businessman, and entrepreneur in Uganda. He is known for inventing one of the greatest No1. Night spot ever known in Uganda’s History ‘’CLUB SILK’’ running for the past 20 years, giving a rise to Silk Events, an Entertainment management company that exists to-date.
In July 2014, he started Liquid Silk a modern and plush restaurant & Bar located in the Kampala suburbs, this has since then rebranded as ‘’Whispers Restaurant’’ and relocated to Bugolobi.

Ham Namakajjo
Ham Namakajjo, cofounder at Fezah, is a strategy and business development professional with a wealth of experience in growth and innovation strategy, private equity portfolio support and business development in entrepreneurial/innovation-oriented settings.
With a passion for applying technology in alleviating societal issues, Ham is
passionate about the intersection between technology and the creatives industry. He has most recently been focused on creating better outcomes for the creatives, particularly working to figure out how to help the long tail of musicians make consistent incomes for themselves.
Jacqueline Namara Rukare
Jacqueline Namara Rukare works as an independent management consultant with a focus on marketing, communications and public relations. She has had a successful career spanning over 20 years, 15 of which were as part of the senior management teams at Vodafone Uganda, Stanbic Bank and Airtel Uganda as well as in fast moving consumer goods (Unilever Uganda) and beverages (Uganda Breweries).
Jacqueline has a solid network in all the industries worked in and continuously leverage relationships for business and social projects. She has a proven record in establishing and growing marketing and communications teams and departments; motivating and leading teams to achieve stretch targets, collaborating with all levels of operational and executive management to execute strategic vision through meaningful.
Rita Ngenzi
Rita Ngenzi is the Justice Accelerator Head – Uganda for the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, where she graduated with a double major in Law and Marketing.
Rita has over six years of experience in the corporate and non-profit sector. She is passionate about social entrepreneurship as a driving tool to empowering, transforming and giving a voice to marginalized communities.
Bwogi Alex
Bwogi Alex is a design strategist, business designer, Data Analyst and technologist by trade.
A digital consultant, Digital skills trainer, project manager and leader with a love for business models, Alex has more than three years of experience as a Business Designer in projects for corporate clients and start-ups, more than 8 years in Digital communications and strategy.
He is fluent in corporate, start-up, and agency environment with a quantitative background and Entrepreneurial spirit. He is an exceptional leader with a very well-rounded education, skill set, and experience to match any challenge (technical or non-technical).
Isabel Odida
Isabel Odida is the Director Fontes Foundation Uganda. She has a background in Information Technology and has previously worked with MTN Uganda. Alongside her work, Isabel is an online course moderator for the internet society (ISOC) where she teaches network operations and is a trainer for the African Network Operators Group.
James Byaruhanga
James Byaruhanga is the general Manager Raxio Data Centre Uganda. He has more than 20 years of experience in ISP, Data Centre and Telco in network administration, service and infrastructure support. James has comprehensive knowledge of wireless, VSAT and cable networks.
