Sheraton Kampala Hotel, has added its weight to the love for Kids of Africa by joining the run for fun race that is meant to raise funds for the provision of safe drinking water through construction of boreholes to the community, and to celebrate their 11th anniversary.
Kids of Africa is a Swiss initiative, a children’s home operating in Uganda. It takes care of 100 abandoned children in ten family homes, each headed by a foster mother. The children represent the next generation of Ugandan society and it is hoped they will contribute to the futures of similarly disadvantaged youngsters in years to come.
Sheraton Kampala Hotel has entered a team of 25 individuals who will take part in different categories of the race. There will be 5km, 10km and 21km races, with the following age categories of Under 12 years old (5km only), 13-17, 18-49, 50+.
The first three male and female finishers in each race and age category will receive medals and a cash prize.
Speaking at a press conference, the Public Relations manager of Sheraton Kampala Hotel MS. Jacqueline Nalubega said that the Hotel has been part of the fun run since 2011 when it was initiated and they will always support the run.
She urged the public to join all the other sponsors to provide clean water to the kids.
