By Our Reporter

Sheraton Kampala Hotel joined the rest world in shining a light on the need for Eco-friendliness by switching off all lights during Earth Hour, a global effort to gravitate awareness to the threat of climate change.

Commenting on the Celebration of Earth Hour, Sheraton Kampala Hotel General Manager, Jean-Philippe Bitterncourt said, “As Sheraton Kampala Hotel, this is an opportunity for us, our guests and the people around the world to come together to shape a better future. As the impact of nature loss and climate change grow, we must unite and do our part in replenishing Mother Earth. Humans are the cause of climate change, but we are also the solution. Together, we can take action to Shape our future.”

The event is held annually, encouraging individuals, communities, and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights, for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. on the last Saturday of March, as a symbol of commitment to the planet.
