Shell VPower Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally 2015 Flags off

The 2015 Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally flags off 28th August 2015 at Silver Springs Hotel in Bugolobi and will run through the weekend to 30th August 2015.

38 drivers have confirmed participation and two foreign drivers, Jassy Singh from Zambia and Jaspreet Chatthe from Kenya who are also contenders for the FIA Africa Rally Championship.

Speaking during the flag off ceremony at Silver Springs in Bugolobi, Vivo Energy Managing Director Hans Paulsen urged the participants, fans and the general public to observe the safety measures put in place to ensure their full safety during the rally.

Vivo Energy is committed to maintaining the very highest safety standards and together with the Federation for Motorsport (FMU) in Uganda, has committed Safety guidelines & plans that will provide assurance of the safety of the participants, spectators and the general public during this year’s rally.

“We are proud to once again bring the Ugandan consumers and rally fans driving excitement that only Shell V-Power provides. We offer a product that delivers performance that excites. The rally creates a platform to demonstrate it and remind our consumers of these benefits.” Hans explained.

Hans further noted that V-Power has also introduced the Go-Karts championship as one way of promoting motorsport in Uganda.

The event starts with a super special stage in Zion Estate Matugga on Friday before heading for competitive sections in Mubende and will have a total distance of 778km where 205Km will be competitive.
