Media personality Sheilah Gashumba has taken to social media to share a powerful message aimed at encouraging women to remain bold, ambitious, and resilient in the face of criticism and societal judgment.

Her post comes shortly after she faced public scrutiny following an interview with entertainment journalist Kasuku.
In response to the backlash, Sheilah addressed the double standards and disrespect many women face when they rise to positions of success and influence.
“Dear bold and ambitious young ladies,” she began, “I’m writing this to prepare you that you will be called all sorts of names, especially ‘a prostitute,’ when you become successful.”
Sheilah went on to highlight how society often discredits women’s achievements, attributing their success to inappropriate means rather than hard work and talent.
She criticized the tendency of insecure men to label women in powerful positions with derogatory terms, stating, “Even when a woman has a big role in the corporate world, the insecure men will say ‘she slept her way up there.’ Men always use the word ‘prostitution’ to cover for their own insecurities, failures, and laziness.”
Sheilah emphasized that truly secure and successful men do not demean women they do not know or have never been involved with. “You will never meet a successful and secure man calling a woman he has never ‘bought’ a prostitute,” she wrote.
Her message concluded with an empowering call to action: “Always keep your chin and head up. Most men don’t love the idea of a successful woman—it messes up their ego. Keep chasing your goals and dreams and never let words slow you down. Keep your eyes on the prize.”
