Sheila Anayo emerged victor in the Twist & Cut cook off finale that took place at Seven Trees Garden along Wampewo Avenue on Sunday. Anayo beat nine other finalists to take home the grand prize of Ugx 1 million. She was followed by Marlene Clover in second place and Sylvia Katende in third who each walked away with 500K and 250K respectively.
The Twist & Cut cook off finale was the culminating event of a cooking competition that kicked off about six weeks ago. The competition started online with Kampala Food Network members being asked to prepare their favorite dishes using Club Twist or Mega Milk and later sharing photos of their dishes online. Ten individuals with the most liked photos were ultimately chosen to battle out in the finals.
According to Mark Kaheru, one of the organisers and a member of the Kampala Food Network, the winner was chosen according to originality, taste, preparation and presentation following a deliberation by the judges who were all mostly foodies.
