Musician Sheebah Karungi has revealed the message behind her song ‘Sili Zari’ is to encourage young women to believe in themselves and not to attack Zari and Desire for their recent sex scandals. Sheebah said that many women don’t believe in themselves these days. She also added that most of them compare themselves a lot with others thus looking down on themselves at the end of it all.
She told Freddie on his KFM show that she penned down the song to get into the hearts of those ladies. “I really do respect all the ladies in the song. So many times I have been surrounded by strong, beautiful and successful people that so many times, I thought I would get lost in their shadow,” she started to explain why she did the song. “This is a message to other people out there who might find themselves in such a situation, when you are trying so hard to be like your mother, Sheeba, Zari and other people relax, we are created differently, no need to fight so hard to be someone. Embrace yourself and the world will receive you as you are,” she said.
The Team No Sleep singer released her highly anticipated “Siri Zari” video recently. The song whose audio has been out months now, got a good reception from fans topping local countdowns.
