Here, in Sili Zari, she is making a statement; she is not Zari. Of course she is not Zari. She is not even engaged to Diamond, or anyone. Zari is a total failure in music, but not Sheebah. This girl? Well, there is something distinctively appealing about this girl. She lives in her head; the kind of free soul who gives less damns about what you think about her.
In the video, it opens up with her seated on a toilet seat. Before you say ‘awww’, I found it disgustingly creative. Or maybe she wanted to say Zari never goes to the loos. That’s for Sheebah to answer. But she wanted to come off crazy, you know; sitting on a toilet and all, trying to emulate Lady Gaga and other crazy souls. This video is nice. There is the way Sasha Vybz expertly snakes through some scenes.
Though, I found it a little crowded with some unnecessary shots in there. But the audio is way up there with this year’s best songs (if pushed very well). In the video, we see portraits of Desire Luzinda, as Sheebah loudly says that she is neither Luzinda. What is she up to, this girl? Is she trying to start a fire? Perhaps. She even says she is not Ntale (her recent ally), but no worries. No one died. All is fine. She continued throwing darts at some other people.
We see her working out in a darkened room, with gloves and punching things (that shot didn’t make sense to me). But I let it slide; I was knees-deep into the video, enjoying every bit of it. I am not a great fan of Sheebah Karungi, but I must say, admittedly, this girl deserves credit. She is flawless, energetic, enthusiastic, and, of course, talented. She never gives up. This is her year. This is her moment. Let her enjoy it. She is not Zari, she says. Good song. Well-crafted video.
