She Cranes star Elizabeth Atonet will have to wait on the sidelines for at least six months before resuming with her netball career after undergoing a successful knee surgery at at CoRSU Rehabilitation Hospital, Kisubi on Entebbe Road.
This came to pass after the National Council of Sports (NCS) footed her surgery bills that amounted to 4.57million shillings following media publications of her plea for financial assistance.
“The proceeding went on well though there was a delay because we found another very crucial injury that we hadn’t planned for but we had to work on it first and that meant she got two operations at the cost of one,” Dr. Moses Muhumuza, one of the surgeons at the hospital told the New Vision.
It should be remember that Atonet sustained her knee injury four months back as the She Cranes prepared for the recently concluded Netball World Cup in Sydney, Australia where they finished 8th although she missed the tournament.
The 25-year-old National Insurance Corporation (NIC) netball club player has also been advised not rush back into action after the doctor said that there are high possibilities of feeling better even before the end of the six month grace period.
