Shanks Vivie ‘D Reveals He Became Born-Again in 2003 to Escape Worldly Troubles

Legendary Ugandan singer Shanks Vivie ‘D has revealed that he gave his life to Christ in 2003 to survive the many challenges of life.

The celebrated artist said becoming born-again helped him avoid the troubles that many of his friends later faced.

“If I had not become born-again, I would be going through serious problems like many of my friends,” Shanks shared in a recent interview on Spark TV.

Shanks Vivie ‘D, who has been traveling in and out of Uganda for more than 20 years, is remembered as one of the top musicians who ruled the Ugandan music scene in the 1990s and early 2000s.

His energetic performances and popular songs made him a household name during that golden era of Ugandan music.

While he has kept a low profile in recent years, his influence on the local music industry remains strong.

His decision to follow a spiritual path, he says, was one of the most important choices he ever made.
