Sexualism And Sexual Disorders: Are Your ‘Wants’ Normal?

Sexuality is an interesting topic everyone will agree. Some people shy away from it, some embrace it and some abuse it.

While there are those who think about sex 23 hours a day, there’s the lot that have a normal sexual appetite and also those that want very little to do with sex. Did you know there are quite a number of sexuality disorders as well?

There are people who would rather observe bread until mold grows on it rather than have sex! Such people have no interest in sex whatsoever and they are called Asexuals.

Asexuality is the lack of sexual attraction to anyone or zero interest in sexual activity. It may be considered a lack of sexual orientation or one of the four types thereof alongside heterosexuality, homosexuality and bisexuality.

“Asexuality and sexuality are not black and white; some people identify in the gray area between them. People who identify as gray-Asexuals can include, but are not limited to those who:

*do not normally experience sexual attraction, but do experience it sometimes

*experience sexual attraction, but a low sex drive

*experience sexual attraction and drive, but not strongly enough to want to act on them

*people who can enjoy and desire sex, but only under very limited and specific circumstances

Similarly, some people who might technically belong to the gray area choose to identify as asexual because it is easier to explain. For example, if someone has experienced sexual attraction on one or two brief, fleeting occasions in their life, they might prefer to call themselves asexual because it is not worth the bother of having to explain these one or two occasions to everyone who asks about their orientation.”

Asexuals are often branded gay when they are actually not. They have zero interest in sex. They never get aroused and they do not like sex one bit.

Gray-As may also append a gender orientation to the label, as in “Gray-heterosexual”

“hyposexual”, “demisexual”, “semisexual”, “low sexual intensity”, “asexual-ish” and “sexual-ish”.

Hyposexual can be used as a catch-all term for the gray area. The actual name is Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder, which is classified as a sexual dysfunction.

Demisexuals only experience sexual attraction after first forming a strong emotional connection.

Hypersexuality is having extremely frequent or suddenly increased sexual urges or sexual activity.

Sapiosexuals find intelligence the most sexually attractive feature. Sapiosexualism is the behavior of becoming attracted to or aroused by intelligence and its use.

Monosexuals are those who are sexually attracted to one sex only.

Pansexuals’ sexual orientation is characterized by the potential for aesthetic attraction, romantic love, or sexual desire for people, regardless of their gender identity or biological sex.

Polysexuals are people who are attracted to more than one gender or sex but do not wish to identify as bisexual because it implies that there are only two binary genders or sexes.

Pomosexuals shun sexual orientation labels (such as heterosexual and homosexual)

Transexuals identify with a physical sex that is different from the one with which they were born.

Zoosexuals’ sexual orientation is aimed  towards non-human animals.
