Seven wins and One draw as Match Day Three of the Azam Uganda Premier League went down

Eight matches were played on match day three of the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) that stared on Friday and ended on Saturday. Only one draw was recorded, 7 wins and 14 goals scored in a quite optimistic 2015-16 season.

On Friday, Sport Club Villa drew 1-1 with Uganda Revenue Authority at the Nakivubo stadium with Robert Achema putting the Jogoos into the lead before Yayo Lutimba claimed the equalizers for the Tax collectors. On the same day at Namboole Stadium, KCCA FC condemned The Saints to a 1-0 defeat to climb top of the table with 7 points.

Nigerian international, Sulaimon Akinyemi scored the only goal of the game as Harunah Kebba suffered his second consecutive defeat in charge of The Saints. On Saturday former Express star, John Semazzi’s sole strike proved to be the match winner as defending champions Vipers SC pipped JMC Hippos by 1-0 at Buikwe stadium. Vipers have now registered 2wins in two games to become second on the table.

Elsewhere, latest signings Vincent Kayizzi and Tonny Odur started as Express fc edged Maroons fc by 3-2 at Muteesa II Royal stadium, Wankulukuku in a five goal thriller. Ceaser Okhuti and substitute Eric Ssebuguzi Bucha netted one and a brace respectively for the Red Eagles. Other the hand, Maxwell Okello and Hood Muliki scored for Asaph Mwebaze’s side. At the Kakindu stadium in Jinja, Alex Isabirye’s Bul FC suffered yet another 1-0 defeat as they lost to Sports Club Victoria University with Joseph Othieno notching the winner for the Learners in that one.

Bul lost 1-0 to URA in their league opener at the Mehta stadium in Lugazi. On the road to Kavumba Recreational Stadium in Wakiso, KCCA reject, Francis Olaki notched a brace as Soana fc put Lweza fc to the sword. 4-0 was the final score with Kamada Ssebagala and Patrick Asiku Crespo scoring the other goals for Charles Ayiekho’s side to send off the Kajjansi boys.

At the Bombo Military stadium in a battle of forces, Police fc came out on top thanks to Joseph Ssentume’s only goal of the game while at Bugembe Stadium former Express FC and Vipers striker Edgar Luzige scored as Sadolin Paints condemned Bright Stars to 1-0 defeat. Bright Star beat SC Villa by 1-0 in their league opener at Mwerere stadium in Matugga.
