Serena Hotel will host the 2016 Uganda Premier league (UPL) awards which were dominated by KCCA’s Joseph Ochaya, Vipers Halid Lwalilwa and Sadolin custodian Mathis Muwanga with each being nominated twice.
Ochaya was nominated for best player of the season and best defender along with youngster Lwalilwa who was also nominated for both best upcoming/Young players.
Mathias Muwanga was also nominated in that category (Best young player) and will also challenge Benjamin Ochan (KCCA FC) and Ismail Watenga (Vipers) for best goalkeeper.
The awards that will be held for the first time since the 2012/2013 campaign are scheduled to take place on 12th August 2016.
In the same awards, league title winner Mike Ray Mutebi will battle The Saint’s Moses Basena who helped his side successfully fight relegation and Express FC’s Wasswa Bossa for best coach of the season.
