Senegal-Guinea

By James Robert Kayindi

The “Lions of Teranga” humiliated Guinea yesterday with a 5-2 defeat in an internationally friendly as part of their final preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations sending off a baleful warning to their Group C counterparts Ghana, South Africa and Algeria.

In a match played in Morocco where both teams camped to prepare for the tournament that is due this Saturday, Russian based striker who features for Lokomotiv Moscow, Dame Ndoye scored a first half brace for the Senegalese before Kara Mbodj, Alfred Ndiaye and Moussa Konate added in more in the second half.

Kevin Constant converted a penalty while Ibrahima Conte sealed off their consolation score sheet. Guinea are in Group D with Cameroon, Mali and Ivory Coast where they truly look to be the under dogs in this seed.

Guinea defeated Uganda 2-0 in the infamous last game of the qualification campaign as the Cranes failed to book a slot at the AFCON finals that kick-off this Saturday in Equatorial Guinea.
