Kenya underwent a terror assault over the weekend. The attack was at a city mall called west gate in the city of Nairobi. The attack has so far claimed souls of over 60 people and left many more nursing injuries.
Following this saga, Uganda has showed concern by taking keen measures to evade such a tragedy. The west gate terror attack that happened in Kenya a few days ago which the Somali based Al-shabaab group have claimed responsibility has caused a serious shockwave across the whole of Africa. But this has gone beyond for the Ugandans.
Latest gossip on our desk reveals how H.E the President of Uganda has ordered scrutinizing of and thorough check of everyone as long as one smells something is not right. This will not be nice at all for foreigners in the country especially any one close to a Somali and a white. This is also the same for the dressed to kill because apparently the gunmen in Kenya were very smart.

Checking on each and every gate of any mall, shopping arcade, supermarkets, conference halls, hotels, and clubs has taken immediate effect. And this has gone beyond understanding that even petrol stations have hired “askaris” to be tight on the issue.
This seems very serious, so yesterday the bigeye.ug team caught up with a few citizens to talk about the late thorough check. Some of them were totally cool with the idea and others had a few complaints. One claimed that at one super market one of the shoppers was told to open the mouth wide to check in case of any gun. Some arcades have started advertising for job seekers who can do the “askari” duty.
We urge all Ugandans to be more security conscious.
