Known for his excellent event security services, Dixon Okello aka Uganda’s James Bond did not miss out on escorting the Ugandan national team to Gabon for the obvious reason — to give assured security.
Dixon explains how he landed the gig:
“After the Uganda Cranes, qualified for Afcon (Gabon 2017) late last year, Ugandans, who had not played any role in the campaign immediately starting lobbying to be included on the official Government delegation to Gabon.
It was also decided that two competent security personnel should be part of the delegation. Their job was to plan, coordinate and over see security of team Uganda.
Trust Ugandans, several senior officers from different security agencies like ISO,ESO,CMl,Police and the Army started fighting for the two slots.
At the end of the day, I and Captain George Kiggundu, were considered to be the best for this assignment.”
