For a while, many thought that Rangers was the next potential destination for Uganda Cranes midfielder Khalid Aucho. However, the latest reports indicate that the Gor Mahia award winning star for the ‘SportPesa’ Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) for the month of May of the Kenyan Premier League has caught the eye of Scottish side Aberdeen and not Rangers as first reported.

According to a tweet by Sky Sports Scotland, Aberdeen boss Derek Mclnnes confirmed the club’s interest in former Tusker FC player. “The Aberdeen FC boss Derek McInnes confirms Ugandan midfielder Khalid Aucho could join the club on trial in the future,” they tweeted.

Reports from Kenya indicate that the player has already been given permission by Gor Mahia to go for the trials and is just a visa away from Scotland.

We will keep you posted.
