The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) competitions department has finally confirmed a date on which the FUFA Super Cup will be played.
The Azam Uganda Premier League reigning champions Vipers Sports Club will face off with 2015 Uganda Cup winners SC Villa on Saturday 15th August, 2015 at the Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium with kick off set for 4:00pm.
FUFA Competitions Manger, Ali Mwebe confirmed the development on the FUFA Super Cup (Uganda’s Community Shield) which happens to be the season’s curtain raiser.
“We shall hold a meeting on Wednesday afternoon at FUFA House with officials from both clubs. We shall communicate to them more information about the FUFA Super cup on that day,” reads Mwebe’s statement on the federation’s website.
The competitions’ department also set the guidelines under which the match shall be played.
Fundamental principles of the competition’s regulations (via www.fufa.co.ug)
1. The name of the competition shall be FUFA Super Cup
2. The competition shall be organized by the FUFA Competitions Committee on a single elimination leg between the first division league champions (AUPL) and the Uganda Cup Winners
3. The match shall be played under the FIFA Laws of the Game and the following provisions as in (4,5,6,7,8, and 9)
4. FUFA Competitions Rules shall be the parent regulations of this cup where not specified in the following regulations.
5. The winner shall be awarded a trophy to be returned by June 30, 2016, 25 gold medals and cash of Shs 1,500,000
6. The runners-up shall receive 25 silver medals and cash Shs 500,000.
7. Each team shall be free to use a maximum of seven (7) substitutes.
8. In case of a draw at the end of 90 minutes, FIFA spot kicks shall be applied
9. Cautions and send-offs earned in this much shall only be served in this competition unless additional sanctions are pronounced by the FUFA Judicial bodies.
