Sports Club Villa are set to kickoff their pre-season training today at Nakivubo stadium ahead of the new season in which they will represent Uganda in the CAF Confederations Cup having won the Uganda Cup.
The training starts barely a day after the Jogoos officially unveiled their new managers from Spain, Antonio Flores (head coach) and Francisco Martinez Sariawo (assistant coach).
Flores will be in charge of all the Villa teams i.e. Villa U-12, U-16, U-17 and the senior team while Phillip Ssozi will be available to help him with the junior teams.
The Spaniards and the entire technical committee will be up for a very big challenge ahead of the new season after club President Eng. Ben Misagga highlighted that Villa set the pace and others follow.
“At Villa, we set the pace and others follow. We have the best players and are of the right age i.e. between 18-23years and a few older ones for experience purposes,” Misagga denoted yesterday during the unveiling ceremony of their new coaches.
Villa will be playing Maroons in the Idd Cup.
