The start of the Uganda Premier League (UPL) 2014/2015 season saw SC Villa refurbished after voting Ben Misagga as the new club president who came with many new changes and developments in the team.
Cutting off players’ dreadful hair wasn’t the only new change that came with Misagga’s management but the club had also shifted its home games from the famous Nakivubo Stadium at the heart of Kampala to the Ssaza grounds in Mityana where all their UPL first round home games were played.
However, after several consultations and observations the ‘Blues’ management made a decision last week to shift back to Villa Park (Nakivubo Stadium) in the city center where they will be playing all their home games in all competitions for the rest of the season.
In a statement issued on the club’s official Facebook page, it’s said that the move has been done to reduce on the costs incurred by the team to transport players to and from Mityana as well as making it easy for the many club city-centered fans to watch all their games.
“Training resumed today as Management confirmed last week that all Villa home games will be played via Nakivubo Stadium. This was done in a bid to minimize costs of transporting players and also done in the interest of fans”, the statement reads.
