SC Villa President Eng. Ben Misagga has come out to reveal that he will not seek re-election for another term at the Nsambya based club.
“When my current term in office expires, I will not come back as president. Good enough, I resurrected the club from slumber and we are where the club is supposed to be,” the outspoken Jogoos president is quoted by Kawowo.
Misagga was speaking at an event on Sunday at Villa park in Nsambya where the club management met with players to serve them with an Eid package.
Misagga accused the fans of insolence and abusing him for having undertaken some hard decisions against the will of others in his bid to steer the club to great heights and success.
“I am fed up of being abused by fans. Some fans are disrespectful not knowing I am a businessman who serves SC Villa with sheer passion. I will leave after my current tenure and others carry on,” he added.
Misagga came out to speak after fans expressed outrage when he chose to release left back Isaac Muleme who he said wasn’t any better than KCCA FC’s Joseph Ochaya. Ochaya scored seven times and assisted a couple of times to help the Kasasiro boys win a record eleventh league title.
Misagga took over at SC Villa at the start of the 2014/15 season during which the club won their 9th Uganda Cup and represented the country at the 2016 CAF Confederation cup.
