Sports Club Villa will tomorrow play Tusker Football Club in a friendly match at Nakivubo Stadium after would be opponents, Gor Mahia cancelled their trip to Uganda.
According to the Jogoo’s CEO Ivan Kakembo, “Gor Mahia are not coming as planned. We shall instead have a friendly as scheduled on Wednesday against Tusker FC, another Kenyan club.”
Tusker FC is already in the country and has so far played two friendly matches against two Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) clubs. First was against the AUPL defending champions Vipers SC which ended in a 0-0 draw and another against Jinja based side JMC which they lost 1-0.
The Kenyan Premier League side are under the charges of a familiar face in Uganda football, a one Paul Nkata, a former SC Villa, URA FC, Express FC and Kiira Young FC coach.
The Blues of Villa will use tomorrow’s tie to prepare for their upcoming engagements in the CAF Confederations Cup against a Sudanese side of El Khartoum and the second round of the local league.
Meanwhile, Tusker plays Sadolin Paints today at Bugembe stadium in Jinja in their third friendly match before tomorrow’s clash against SC Villa.
