Uganda Cup defending champions, Sports Club Villa has officially unveiled Spanish national, Antonio Flores as their new head coach for the next two years.
The Spaniard was introduced to the media today morning by Club president, Eng. Ben Emmanuel Misagga at Pope Paul hotel in Ndeeba Kampala.
Flores will be assisted by Francisco Martinez Sariawo together will Ibrahim Kirya (former interim coach) and Phillip Ssozi while Phillip Obwinyi will maintain his post as technical director.
Speaking to the media this morning, Eng. Ben Misagga asserted how demanding Villa as a club can be in terms of trophies and performance.
“SC Villa is a demanding club. We need trophies at the club. Your immediate task starts with the Idd Cup against Maroons,” Misagga remarked.
Antonio Flores expressed his pleasure at now being part of the Jogoos.
“We are happy to be at SC Villa. We shall target success and team building,” Flores said.
He also did mention that he has experience in building young talent after being queried on his approach to African football given the fact that it’s his first time coaching on the continent.
“This is my first time to coach in Africa. I will bank on my experience in team building as well as the local assistants to help as we acclimatize with the environs,” reads Flores’ statement on Kawowo.
SC Villa will play Maroons in the Idd Cup.
