SC Villa ended their five match winless streak with a 1-0 victory over Police FC in a game played on Tuesday evening at Kavumba Recreational Stadium in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL).
It was a barren first half from the highly contested duel before the Cops were reduced down to ten men when Yasin Mubiru received his second booking in the 78th minute for unsporting characters.
Three minutes to full time, Ambrose Kirya scored the only goal of the game as the Jogoos arrested Police FC with their own cuffs.
The victory elevated Villa to sixth place with 41 points from 27 games, displacing their opponents to 7th place with similar points from 28 games.
Villa return to action on Friday when they host Jinja based side Sadolin Paints at Nakivubo stadium.
