Morley Byekwaso, the SC Victoria University coach, will tomorrow shift his attention to starting the title defence of the Uganda Cup when they travel over 300km to face Amuria Crane City in the round of 64.

SC Victoria University, who are placed fifth on the FUFA Super League log, will be out to prove a point that last season was no fluke when they won the cup to represent Uganda at the CAF Confederation Cup.

After falling 1-0 to Soana FC in the league last Friday, SC Victoria will hope to restore some pride when they face the lower division side.

“We have continued to work hard and hope we can play well and get the goals that will propel us to the next round.

“Last year was a good lesson for us, having gone to Nkumba and we almost lost to the lower division team in the early round.

“We can’t undermine Amuria. I just hope the long journey does not affect us,” said Byekwaso.

He added that they have gained some experience from the intercontinental games.

“I am positive we can go all the way in this competition but we must work hard to getting to the final.”

SC Victoria University won the Uganda Cup last year after defeating SC Vipers on post-match penalties.
