On Saturday night at the Sauti Sol Live in Kampala show, the Kenyan boy band took off some time while on stage to recognize their favourite Ugandan celebrities.
What left many in shock is that they didn’t consider some celebrities even when Ugandans hail these particular celebs for being ‘big’.
Sauti Sol decided to shout out the following in the middle of their show held at Kampala Serena Hotel; President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, dynamic duo Radio and Weasel, comedian Kansiime, songstress Juliana Kanyomozi and legendary singer and MTV Award nominee, Dr. Jose Chameleone. They forgot other ‘big’ people, not so?
Yes, they did. Apparently, Bebe Cool fans are mad at Sauti Sol as we speak and have vowed not to vote for them in the MTV MAMAs.
“How could they leave out Bebe Cool and mention all these guys. Bebe Cool is the biggest celebrity in Uganda,” ranted one Gagamel fans.
It turns out Gagamel fans are not the only ones who are affected. Even Eddy Kenzo fans. Stanley who is a diehard Kenzo fan and part of the Big Talent fans crew said that he was left in shock when they refused to recognize Eddy Kenzo. “Even when he was seated in the crowd they didn’t include him in the list. I am told he is working on a song with them. Why didn’t they mention him among the top celebs?”
Everyone has a favourite list of top celebs and Sauti Sol are not any different. That’s their list, everyone else should deal with it.
