Kenyan music group, Sauti Sol has joined the rich line up of performers at this year’s edition of Uganda Entertainment Awards. The all-male band who thrilled revelers at the Sheraton Gardens on Saturday as part of their Live and Die in Afrika Tour in Uganda will yet again entertain their fans in Kampala this Friday, 19th August.
They will perform alongside top African music stars, Nigerian songstress Yemi Alade and Tanzanian sensation Ali Kiba, at a red carpet ceremony which will be held at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
Meanwhile, Sauti Sol are nominated in the Uganda Entertainment Awards for Best East African Act where they will battle with Eddy Kenzo, Vanessa Mdee, Ali Kiba and Diamond Platnumz for the coveted award.
Now in their second edition, the awards seek to transform Uganda’s entertainment industry by celebrating the most outstanding stakeholders on a global platform. A total of 47 awards will be given out, including three honorary accolades – Lifetime Achievement Award (Afrigo Band), Humanitarian Award (Angella Katatumba) and the UEA Nobel Award (Pr Robert Kayanja).
