The Uganda Police has officially addressed the incident involving singer Weasel Manizo, who was reportedly injured after being knocked by his partner, Sandra Teta, at Shan’s Bar in Munyonyo.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luke Oweyesigyire, Sandra Teta is currently in police custody at Kabalagala Police Station on allegations of “unlawfully wounding” Weasel, whose real name is Douglas Mayanja.
“It is alleged that around midnight at Shan’s Bar in Munyonyo, Sandra Teta went into her car, a Mercedes Benz, and drove it towards Weasel, who was standing in front of the vehicle. The incident allegedly resulted in a fracture,” Oweyesigyire said.
Weasel was initially rushed to Mukwaya Hospital and later transferred to Nsambya Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Police confirmed that Sandra Teta has since been arrested and her vehicle impounded.
Authorities emphasized that the case is being handled as a criminal offence rather than a traffic violation. As of now, Teta is yet to record an official statement.
