Samsung has already revealed its intentions about focussing on the tablet segment in the coming year. Now, a new report claims the South Korean major might launch its most affordable Galaxy tablet yet, believed to be called the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite, in January next year.

Sammobile in a report has claimed that a new tablet rumoured to be called the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite with model number SM-T11 is in the works and that it would be priced at 100 euros, roughly translating to Rs. 8,500.

“The #SamsungTwitterParty is back! Get ready to party the night away come 19th December at Zone 7 with fellow tweeps. Entrance is 15,000shs. Call 0775439894 for details. Great music and drinks.”

Unfortunately, the report does not reveal any details about specifications of the alleged Galaxy Tab 3 Lite but does say that it would be available in Wi-Fi and 3G variants. Further, the report claims that the Wi-Fi model of the alleged Galaxy Tab 3 Lite in Cream White colour will be rolled out to markets by the second week of January 2014, which will be followed by the 3G model in the same colour in the third week. In addition, the report reveals that an Ebony Black colour variant of both 3G and Wi-Fi model of Galaxy Tab 3 Lite would be available by the end of January.

As of now, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 3 range includes the Galaxy Tab 3 211, Galaxy Tab 3 310, and Galaxy Tab 3 311 tablets, all of which are available in India.

The rumoured Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is not the only Lite variant expected to launch soon, as Samsung is said to be working on the Galaxy Note 3 Lite and Galaxy Grand Lite, believed to be the affordable variants of Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Grand respectively, which are scheduled to launch at MWC 2014.

Earlier, a report suggested that Samsung would start mass producing AMOLED displays in 8-inch and 10-inch sizes in early 2014. The report also speculated that Samsung might launch one of the two tablet models (8-inch and 10-inch) alongside the 2014 flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5 early next year.
