Ugandan comedian Patrick Salvado has revealed that his once-close relationship with opposition leader Bobi Wine has grown cold, citing political tensions as the root of the fallout.

Speaking on Cruz Xclusive interview, Salvado disclosed that Bobi Wine—formally known as Robert Kyagulanyi and the leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP)—no longer responds to his messages or phone calls.
The breakdown in communication, according to Salvado, began after his controversial meeting with President Yoweri Museveni in 2020.
“We are no longer that tight ever since my meeting with the President, and I understand,” Salvado said. “He no longer responds to my messages and phone calls. It’s actually his fans and followers who first expressed bitterness against me before he did, but I understand where it comes from. I was very close to him and then chose to meet with President Museveni.”
The comedian noted that the initial signs of tension came not from Bobi Wine himself, but from his fanbase, who openly criticized Salvado on social media after the meeting.
Despite the strained ties with the NUP principal, Salvado emphasized that he still maintains cordial relationships with a few members of the party.
Among those he named were producer Dan Magic—whom Salvado says he wishes had stood for Member of Parliament in their area—and Godfrey Luyombya.
