Following their weekend victory over fellow league debutants JMC Hippos at Nelson Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, The Saints FC are now five points from safety.
Goals from Ivan Kiweewa and Alex Kitata were enough to earn maximum points for the hosts on Saturday who have had a better spell in the second round of the league under the charges of Moses Basena who doubles as the National team assistant coach.
Ajab Abdurrahman scored the consolation for JMC. The precious victory sent them to 30 points from 26 games, five points in front of a 14 placed Simba Sports Club who are left with 3 games.
If Simba win all their remaining three games, they can achieve a maximum point tally of 34 points which could save them relegation if the Saints flatter.
On the other hand, The Saints need at least five points from their remaining four games to ensure complete safety.
They make a short trip to Nakivubo stadium tomorrow where they will play SC Villa before entertaining an already relegated Maroons FC side on Friday.
