Veteran Tanzanian singer Saida Karoli has credited the popularity of her music to its strong cultural roots and use of familiar languages.

Speaking during a recent TV interview, the “Wanchekecha” hitmaker said, “People want to listen to my music because it’s in languages they understand, and it proudly represents our culture.”
Known for her unique traditional style and use of local dialects like Haya, Swahili, and other East African languages, Saida Karoli has remained a favorite across generations in the region.
Her songs, often rich in cultural rhythms and messages, have played a major role in preserving traditional East African sounds in modern music.
