Relegation fighters KJT Rwenshama kicked off their second round of the FUFA Azam Premier League in style as they stunned army based side Simba Sports Club with a 2-0 victory at the Bombo Millitary Barracks Stadium yesterday.
Deo Ochola and Duncan Sseninde scored for the league debutants in the 20th and 30th minutes respectively to hand victory to the KJT boys. They now move from bottom of the table to 15th position with 11 points from 16 games on the 16-team Log.
At the Nakivubo stadium in Kampala, Chrizistom Ntambi scored the only goal of the game as Sports Club Villa edged Sadolin Paints. The goal which came in the 37th minute has since seen the 16-time record champions move top of the table with 36 points from 16 games and just a point above Vipers who finished off the first round of the league without a single loss and are yet to kick off their second round.
Elsewhere, attacking midfielder Tom Matisko scored a 44th minute penalty to hand victory to the defending champions of the FUFA Azam premier league, Kampala City Council Football Club (KCCA F.C) over Entebbe during their away trip to the Bugonga Stadium in Entebbe.
The resultant penalty came after Matisko was fouled in the area by Entebbe’s Farouk Katongole and he made no mistake to bury the ball into the back of the net. The result leaves the Kasasiro boys third on the table with 33 points from 16 games while Entebbe were sent to the bottom with 9 points.
At the Mehta stadium in Lugazi, five time record champions Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) condemned Bul F.C to a 2-1 defeat.
The visitors took an early lead through Masene Joshua in the 11th minute of the game and maintaining the lead till half time in the process. Lwasa Peter gave the tax collectors an equalizer in the 56th minute before Yasser Mugerwa scored a late winner in the 92nd minute for the home side. URA are fourth on the table with 30 points while Bul F.C are fifth with 23 points all from 16 games.
