Longtime Ugandan singer Ronald Mayinja has spoken out about his controversial involvement in politics.

“I am not a politician. I am a musician, and I go wherever my services are needed,” Mayinja said when asked about his past links to political events.
The veteran artist, who has been in the music industry for decades, has often been criticized for performing at different political rallies.

His appearances have sometimes raised questions about his loyalty to certain political groups.
However, Mayinja insists that his main focus remains on music and serving audiences that invite him, regardless of their political background.
Mayinja is best known for his timeless hits such as Tuli Ku Bunkenke, Tuli Kubunkenke, and Africa Kwetu, which have kept him relevant in Uganda’s music industry for years.
His remarks are seen as an attempt to clear the air and separate his music career from the political debates that often surround him.
