It seems they won’t let this whole Artistes-DJs battle rest, at least not until they have added their voice. When we all thought the dust had finally settled and the case buried albeit unsettled, Don Mc Kapata has come out to reignite it.
As expected he sides with Bebe Cool, praising his unrelentingness in the struggle to put Ugandan music where it is now. However, his argument introduces a new dimension to this whole “djs not playing Ugandan music” thing. It actually might get you re-thinking whose side you are own. He made a rather shocking revelation — Djs ask for incentives to play music? Plainly put, he said; “It’s because they are very greedy… mbu give me some money to play your song.” This is rather painful to one’s ears knowing there is some talent rotting away somewhere because some DJ out there wants to be appeased before he can do his rightful job.
