1. Who is Renah Nalumansi?
Renah Nalumansi is one of Uganda’s well known musician, born to Mr. Dan Lubwama and the late Kyomukama Winnie. I went to St. Kizito primary school in Bugolobi, Katikamu SDA for my O level, Lakeside college, Luzira for A’level and finally did a Diploma at UCC.
I started my music career with ‘Dream Gals’, best known for our hit single “Weekend”. I then joined Suudi Entertainment which I later left for ‘Switdrim music’ where I am now.
2. What has been your experience working with Suudi in your music career?
Well, working with Suudi was awesome; he had the passion of pushing a person to the top no matter what it took. He got me many projects and promoted them immensely and in the shortest time, I was an established solo artiste.
3. With your songs ‘Nsuubiza’ with Beenie Gunter and Wonderman, ‘Ontambuuza’ and ‘Omukwano Gwo’ which you did some years back, which is your favorite?
‘Ontambuzza’ and ‘Nsubiza’ were released last year and ‘Ontambuzza’ is doing so well. ‘Omukwano Gwo’ was one of the projects when I was still with Suudi Entertainment and believe me, when I go to perform somewhere I can’t leave it out. All these songs are special in one way or another and I love them all. But since am pushing ‘Ontambuza’ right now I must say, I’ve got my whole on it for now.
4. Performing on both international and local stages, which one have you found more appealing?
Well, I’ve always performed on local stages and they have helped me grow musically and to up my game but when you get the chance to share stage with an international artiste it’s awesome, because we look up to them. Last year, I curtain raised for Busy Signal.
5. What is your favorite colour and why?
I love white because it’s angelic. It makes you look divine.
6. First with ‘Dream Gals’ before going solo, what really went wrong?
Well, you know our egos and pride got the best of us and money of course but we left on good terms; we actually sat down Eddy Yahwe, our then manager and told him we were parting ways. I shall forever be grateful to ‘Dream Gals’ because it made me what I am today.
7. What do you do outside active music?
I am a stay home mom for now. When am not doing music, I spend time with my daughter.
8. If you were to do a collabo one more time, with whom would it be?
I have a number of collabos I did some time back that I haven’t released yet. I think I that will be it for now though I’d love to do a collabo with West African artistes.
9. Any projects we should expect this year?
Yeah, I have a couple of songs I am working on and in March I’ll be dropping the video to my latest single called ‘Ndimugumu’ which is already receiving ample airplay on radio.
