In a recent survey done by a local tabloid, Rema Namakula was ranked the best female vocalist in Uganda at the moment. The Mchuzi singer topped the list thanks to her beautiful voice that can melt anyone’s heart. The singer who was mentored by her auntie, Halima Namakula and brought up musically by Bebe Cool whom she later left to shine as a lone star has over time proved that she has the best vocals in Uganda.
From the times of her Cease and Sickle, Sitaki, Kukaliba to her most recent rendition of Lowooza Kunze by the late Elly Wamala, the singer has a strong and authoritative yet distinct voice that you will recognize even if they wake you up in the middle of your sleep to listen to her song. She has a voice that your soul can feed on like it was food or water.
In the second position is songstress Juliana Kanyomozi, followed by Iryn Namubiru, Judith Babirye, Lilian Mbabazi, Daisy Ejang, Irene Ntale, Zani C, Angella Katatumba, Angella Kalule, Ekky, Angelina and Desire Luzinda in that order.
We will keep you posted.
