Music in Uganda is not an easy thing. To make it to the top, one has to work very hard, get the right connections, brand themselves properly and get the right management.
For singer Rema Namakula, there is more to this to make it to the top level of Ugandan music. Her simple advice for upcoming musicians is to pray very hard.
According to the Akaliro singer, no up-coming artiste will make it unless they devote time to pray and seek God to guide them in order to hit the right notes, right records and reach out to the masses.
In an interview, Rema said that she has taken one step at a time to be able to make it big. She also said that she has worked very hard, prayed to God to be able to reach where she is now. She implored all upcoming artistes to put God first and everything else will follow.
If Rema’s advice is anything to go by, artistes will be releasing albums like her, appearing on international music shows like Coke studio and doing even bigger things.
