Ugandan female recording artiste, Rema Namakula, could win the first ever MTN CallerTunez Online Award tomorrow. Rema, who is currently leading in number of downloads this month could be the first winner of the promotion in which Ugandan artistes and content owners are expected to be rewarded by the telecom giant for commanding the most downloads off their CallerTunez platform.
This month, the battle is between Rema, Kenzo, Bebe Cool and David Lutalo. These artistes have had the most downloads in the past thirty days with only one day left to determine who the ultimate winner of the month will be.
Rema’s hit single Mchuzi has managed to scoop over 6,000 downloads, it is followed by Eddy Kenzo’s Sitya Loss which has managed to scoop 3,000+ downloads, Bebe Cool’s Love you every day has over 3,000 downloads while as David Lutalo’s Manya has over 2,900 downloads.
This means that should Rema stay in the number one position by the end of the day today, she will be crowned the first monthly winner of the awards.
It should be noted that MTN will be rewarding artistes with the most downloads every month. All monthly winners will be eligible for both the monthly and annual awards.
Artistes or content producers will get up to UGX 2,500,000 in monthly rewards while customers with the most downloads will win up to UGX 1,000,000 and Huawei devices every month.
