Songstress Rema Namakula has promised to console her lover and singer, Eddy Kenzo with a “special award” after he failed to scoop an award at the MTV Africa Music Awards(MAMA) that were held in Johannesburg, South Africa on Saturday evening.
In a consolation message to the Ugandan artistes after they lost out in the MTV MAMAs, she said; “We still believe in the three of you. Don’t give up and don’t lose hope mulibawanguzi nokukilawo. It’s just the beginning. And for you Eddy Kenzo a special award awaits you from me. So you are a winner all the wayyy.”
Meanwhile, Eddy Kenzo, who lost to South Africa’s Cassper Nyovest in the Best Live Act category, was apparently very upset with the loss as he took to social media to vent his frustration as he accused the award organisers of foul play.
Uganda’s other representatives at the prestigious award ceremony, Bebe Cool and Sheebah Karungi had no luck either. Bebe Cool lost to Jah Prayzah from Zimbabwe in the Listener’s Choice category while Sheebah was beaten by Youssoupha from Congo in the Video of the Year category.
