The reigning champions of the Uganda premier league (UPL), Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) will host Bright Stars today(24th October) at the Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo. George ‘Best’ Nsimbe’s side has had a tough start to the new campaign and are yet to win two games in a row.
The defending champions will be up for another big test after their Tuesday clash against Vipers in Buikwe that ended in a 2-all draw. The “Kasasiro Boys” will depend on their star players Brian Umony and Brian Majwega who rose to the occasion and scored during their 2014/15 season’s debut against Vipers.
Bright stars have probably had their best start of the season ever as they are yet to lose a game in the new season. Bright Stars have won two and drawn three of their five opening fixtures in the league and are standing 4th on the 16-team log with 9points while rivals KCCA are 11th on the table with 5 points from 4 matches.
The Kawempe based side have bagged all their two wins this season from Lugogo and will look to Mathias Kigonya (goalie), winger Meddie Kakeeto, strikers Anthony Bongoole among other key players for inspiration against the defending champions.
