Gareth Bale, Isco and Cristiano Ronaldo scored as Real Madrid moved towards their fourth successive Champions League semi-final with a 3-0 last four first leg win over Borussia Dortmund at Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night.
Dortmund, who knocked Real out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage last season, were without suspended striker Robert Lewandowski.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men got off to a fantastic start with Gareth Bale put them in front just three minutes in and Isco doubled their advantage with a low shot from the edge of the area before half-time as Jurgen Klopp’s charges had no answer to Real’s attacking threat.
Ronaldo, on his 100th Champions League appearance, added a third to register his 14th goal of the competition after the break when he danced past goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller and slotted in.
The Spanish capital club have already put one foot in the semi-final even before next week’s second leg in Germany.
The second legs will be played on 8 and 9 April.
