Ugandan singer Ray G has publicly expressed his admiration for legendary artist Dr. Jose Chameleone, urging the public to give him maximum respect and recognition.
“I did that to show my appreciation to Dr. Jose Chameleone. He is truly a living legend,” Ray G stated, referring to his role in a fundraising campaign that has successfully raised Ugx.1 billion for the iconic singer.
The funds were raised ahead of Jose Chameleone’s return to Uganda after spending four months in the United States on medical leave.
The gesture sparked wide attention, with many questioning Ray G’s motive.
However, his recent remarks have clarified that his actions stem from deep respect and appreciation for Chameleone’s contribution to Uganda’s music industry.
“This is about celebrating a legend while he is still alive,” Ray G emphasized.
“We must give our heroes their flowers now,” he added.
The move has intensified Ray G’s public appeal to honor the veteran musician, calling on fans, fellow artists, and the general public to show more appreciation for Chameleone’s decades-long impact on Ugandan music.
