Ugandan female rapper Racheal Mirembe, known to fans as Recho Rey, has opened up about her battle with depression and the crucial role fellow musician Sheebah Karungi played in her recovery.
In a candid interview on ‘The Deep Talk’ show on Galaxy TV, Recho Rey shared how her friendship with Sheebah provided her with the support and perspective she needed to navigate through a difficult period in her life.
Recho Rey recounted that becoming close to Sheebah was a turning point for her.
She learned valuable lessons from the diva that helped her realize she was not alone in her struggles.
“Being around Sheebah helped me beat depression. It was only after talking to Sheebah that I learned things that were happening to me were quite normal. Even if it never happened to everyone out there, it did happen to someone. This is when I actually realized I was not crazy. It is okay to go through a rough patch because everyone does,” Recho Rey revealed during the interview.
The rapper emphasized that understanding the universality of her experiences was a key factor in her recovery.
Sheebah’s insights and support made her realize that many people face similar ordeals at different points in their lives.
Currently, Recho Rey is thriving in her music career under the famous Team No Sleep (TNS) camp. Despite the challenges she has faced, she continues to stand out in the Ugandan rap music scene, inspiring many with her resilience and talent.
