Rapper Mos Def to perform in Nairobia

Mos Def

Actor, rapper and activist Yasiin Bey, commonly known as Mos Def, is slated to perform in Nairobi on 28th May at Ebony Lounge, Westlands Road.

As Uganda keeps feeding from morsels and leftovers that are Nigerian struggling artistes, faded and ageing American artistes or one-hit Jamaican artistes, Kenya has steadily and continuously attracted what passes as cream of music.

Mos Def might not be largely known here, like the likes of Kanye West and Jay Z, but he is, surely, respected on the Hip Hop arena. The 41-year-old rapper is remembered for his Guantanamo Bay stint as he voiced what the prisoners in the deadly prison go through.

He is also remembered in movies like Italian Job alongside Mark Wahlberg, Jason Statham and Charlize Theron. Also, he starred in the musical movie Begin Again alongside Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightley.
