During a press conference on Wednesday, renowned Ugandan musician Ragga Dee shared the crucial role he has played in advocating for changes to Uganda’s Copyright Law.
Ragga Dee, who is currently the Chairman of the National Culture Forum (NCF), revealed that his efforts have led to the government considering amendments to the law in 2025.
Ragga Dee emphasized the importance of copyright protection for creatives in Uganda, stating that the new law will better safeguard the interests of artists.
He noted that his long-standing commitment to the music industry has been key in pushing for this change, which will help musicians, producers, and other creatives receive fair compensation for their work.
The anticipated changes to the Copyright Law come as a result of years of effort, and Ragga Dee expressed pride in his contribution to this significant milestone for the industry.
