The last time we heard about Rafsanjan Abbey Tatya, he was in the jungles angling deadly pythons and chilling with mountain gorillas. So this news certainly came as a surprise to us, although we are not shocked given the fact that he has been one of the finest society journalists in the land.
Let’s bring you up to speed, folks: Rafsanjan is launching a new TV show on UBC TV called Extreme Edge.
It is an entertainment talk show where social critics sit and look at daily headlines and other topics across the entertainment and social scene.
The highly-anticipated show will premiere this Sunday at 10:45 p.m. It will be showing weekly at 10:45 p.m.
But unlike his previous television exploits on his first show Celeb Shed, this time around on Extreme Edge, Rafsanjan is introducing a host of journalists to the television audience.
Extreme Edge will be anchored by a panel of social critics picked from the entertainment and media world including Darius Mugisha of Sqoop Magazine, radio expert Joel Isabirye and Flora Aduk of Daily Monitor.
“This show is opinion-driven and our aim is to make it as interactive as possible,” said Rafsanjan. “Our topics include music, fashion, food, love, art, politics, movies, everything.”
Other journalists and entertainers like Alex Balimwikungu, Steven Odeke, Rasta Rob, Santa Anzo, Levin Maurice, Shanks VVD, Angella Katatumba, Robert Kalumba among others will make regular appearances on the panel.
Rafsanjan also says they will host celebrities of all walks of life on the show.
“People want to hear from the horse’s mouth especially on contentious issues so we’ll give celebrities a chance to say things in their own voices,” he added. “But we’ll make sure we ask questions that push them to the extreme edge.”
