While we have top leaders in our country beating their heads over whether or not we should have the mini skirts in circulation, artistes have taken it upon themselves to look into the core issues eating the fabric of our society. They have decided to be the mouthpiece of the people deprived of the many services that they are entitled to like health, education and many others.
The artistes preaching about the plight of Ugandans are none other than the dynamic duo of Radio and Weasel with promising star Bakri of the ’18 & Over’ fame. The song is a brainchild of the Uganda Debt Network who have been on a countrywide campaign denouncing corruption and thought adding starpower to the project would express the message better.
You guessed right, Radio sets the song on an emotional journey as he points out all the wrongs of the corrupt politicians. Weasel sounds alittle peculiar with his deep lyrics; big a contrast from his ‘whine down low’ routines in his lyrics. Bakri makes a memorable cameo to crown a message driven song.
The reggae piece produced and mastered at Monster Studios will not give you the adrenaline to rush to the dancefloor but give you a moment to reflect on the dire situation marred by corruption and many other social evils in our country, Uganda. Good song for me.
